Discord Server setup, onboarding verification, automated Go-Live webhooks, and Sub Role sync

~10 min

1. Discord Server Structure & Onboarding

1

Create Discord Server & Configure Role Hierarchy

  1. 1Open Discord app, click the + icon on the left navigation bar → select Create My Own → For a club or community, and name your server.
  2. 2Configure Role Hierarchy (Server Settings → Roles):
  3. 3🥇 @Streamer — Channel owner role (Full server control permissions)
  4. 4🛡️ @Moderator — Moderation staff overseeing Discord and live chat
  5. 5💎 @Subscriber — Exclusive role for active KICK subscribers (Auto-synced via bot)
  6. 6🔔 @Live Alert — Opt-in role for viewers choosing to receive live stream notifications
  7. 7⭐️ @Member — Verified regular viewers who completed the #verify gate
2

Set Up #verify Gate & Organize Channel Categories

  1. 1Anti-Spam Verification Gate (#verify): Create a #verify channel and set permissions so @everyone can only see this channel. Prompt new members to accept community rules to unlock the @Member role, protecting your server from crypto/slot spam bots.
  2. 2Channel Categories Organization:
  3. 3📢 INFORMATION: #verify, #rules, #live-notifications, #get-roles (Self-assign @Live Alert)
  4. 4💬 PUBLIC COMMUNITY: #general-chat, #game-discussion, #clips-and-highlights
  5. 5🔒 VIP SUBSCRIBERS: Private Category restricted to @Subscriber role, including #sub-lounge and #sub-perks
  6. 6🔊 TEMP VOICE CHANNELS: Use voice bots (e.g. MasterVoice) configured with a ➕ Join to Create hub to generate and destroy private temp voice channels dynamically.
💡

Combining an onboarding verification gate in #verify with private VIP category locks for @Subscriber prevents spam bot raids while protecting subscriber perks.

2. Automated Go-Live Notifications

1

Connect Kick to Discord via BotRix

  1. 1In your Discord Server, create a text channel called #live-notifications to receive alerts.
  2. 2Go to botrix.live/panel/integrations → select Integrations in the left menu.
  3. 3Click the Kick card to start connecting — you'll first confirm your Kick account, then be redirected to connect Discord.
  4. 4Select your Discord Server from the list and click Authorize to grant BotRix access.

2

Select Your Alert Channel and Customize the Go-Live Message

  1. 1After Discord is connected, go back to Integrations and click the Kick card again.
  2. 2A Select a channel dialog appears — choose the #live-notifications channel you created, then click Accept.
  3. 3In the Kick alerts field, type your KICK channel name (e.g. NiceJRS) and click Add to link the channel you want alerts for.
  4. 4Customize the message in the Message for the alert box using the available variables: $(author), $(url), $(title), $(description).
  5. 5Opt-In tag instead of @everyone: Insert the @Live Alert role in the message instead of tagging the whole server, to prevent notification fatigue and server muting.
  6. 6Click Save changes to activate — the next time you go live on KICK, the bot posts the alert into this channel automatically.

Customize the alert message with $(author), $(url), $(title), $(description) variables and add the Kick channel to follow
💡

Since KICK mobile apps do not support native in-app subscribing, attach https://kick.com/[username]/subscribe in your alert message (or pin it in #live-notifications) so mobile viewers can pay directly via mobile browser without hunting for the menu.

3. KICK Sub Role Sync & Community Perks

1

Add the RoleLogic Bot and Connect Kick Channel Role

  1. 1Go to rolelogic.faizo.net, click Get Started Free, and sign in with Discord to invite the bot to your server.
  2. 2In the dashboard's left menu, select Integrations → Add Integration and choose Kick Channel Role.
  3. 3Sign in with your KICK broadcaster account when prompted, authorizing RoleLogic to read Follower/Subscriber data — this is a one-time step per channel, and the credentials are encrypted at rest.
rolelogic.faizo.net — click Get Started Free to invite the bot and begin setup
2

Set the Subscriber Condition and Map a Discord Role

  1. 1Once added, the Kick Channel Role integration appears on the Integrations page — click Configure.
  2. 2Use the IF/THEN rule builder to select the Subscriber condition (other conditions are also available, such as Sub Tenure, VIP, Moderator, OG, Follower, and Account Age).
  3. 3Map the condition to the Discord role you want to grant, e.g. @Subscriber, then toggle it Enabled.
  4. 4Share RoleLogic's verification link with your viewers so they can sign in with their KICK account and link it to Discord — once linked, the role is granted automatically in real time (and revoked automatically if the sub expires).

Troubleshooting Missing Roles & Community Sub Perks Strategy

  1. 1Troubleshooting Role Sync: If a subscriber's role fails to appear, confirm they've signed in through the RoleLogic verification page. Streamers or mods can also manually assign the @Subscriber role as a fallback.
  2. 2Sub Perks to Boost Monthly Retention:
  3. 3KICK Emotes Sync: Upload channel KICK emotes to Discord Server, allowing Subscribers to use your custom emotes across other Discord servers.
  4. 4Discord Soundboard Access: Grant Discord Soundboard usage rights exclusively to the @Subscriber role.
  5. 5Sub Game Night: Host weekly private voice lounge gaming sessions exclusive to Subscribers.
💡

Granting Discord Soundboard access and Custom Channel Emotes to the @Subscriber role is one of the most effective incentives for driving monthly subscriber renewals.

Q

Why didn't a viewer receive the @Subscriber Discord role automatically after subscribing on KICK?

A

This usually happens because the viewer hasn't signed in through the RoleLogic verification page to link their KICK and Discord accounts yet. Ask them to sign in again, or manually assign the @Subscriber role in Discord as a fallback.

Q

Why shouldn't I use the @everyone tag in Go-Live notification messages?

A

Tagging @everyone every time you go live causes notification fatigue, leading viewers to mute your server. Create an opt-in @Live Alert role in a #get-roles channel and tag only that role instead.
